Glen E. Martin // President, CEO

Glen E. Martin, III is a principal and co-founder of Liberty Trust Company, Ltd., an IRA custodian. A true entrepreneur at heart, Glen has founded four retirement planning and administration companies throughout his career. His passion was brought to life with his initial retirement planning consulting and administration company Martin & Pauley, Inc, founded in 1986. In 2005, he co-founded IRA Plus Southwest and co-founded Liberty Trust Company, Ltd. in 2012.

Glen holds a bachelor’s degree and MBA degree from the University of Kansas. He went on to graduate from Southern Methodist University School of Law and is a licensed member of the State Bar of Texas. He also received the Chartered Life Underwriter designation from the American College.

Before his career in retirement planning, Glen was a practicing attorney. He worked as an employee benefit and tax consultant for two major life insurance companies located in the southwest, Southwestern Life and American General Life. He also served as President of a financial services company that specialized in employee benefits and executive compensation.

Glen has more than 30 years’ experience in the retirement and benefits industry. His expertise includes IRAs, qualified plans and other retirement plans.

Glen has participated in various organizations throughout his career including: Dallas Bar Association – Employee Benefit and Executive Compensation Section, Dallas Benefits Society, Dallas Estate Planning Council, Society of Financial Service Professionals, Dallas Chapter of Society of Financial Service Professionals. In addition, he has been an instructor for Lorman Education seminars.

Glen is a sought after speaker and is highly regarded for his passion and in-depth knowledge on all things IRA. Glen has spoken at various IRA seminars, brokerage firm educational workshops, as well as speaking to various real estate investment groups, CFPs, CPAs, and other financial professionals and individuals.

Stephen R. Pauley // Vice President, COO

Steve is a principal and co-founder of Liberty Trust Company, Ltd., an IRA custodian. Steve is an Enrolled Actuary and has an extensive background in actuarial science, management, consulting, and system design.

Steve has an entrepreneurial spirit with proven success in the retirement planning industry. In 2005, he co-founded IRA Plus Southwest and co-founded Liberty Trust Company, Ltd. in 2012.

Steve has more than 30 years’ experience in the retirement and benefits industry. His expertise includes IRAs, qualified plans and other retirement plans.

Steve holds a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics from Marshall University. He is a member of the American Academy of Actuaries and the American Society of Pension Professionals and Actuaries.

He began his career in the Pension Actuarial Department of Republic National Life and served as a manager and systems designer for two actuarial firms in Dallas. He also managed the pension actuarial department for a computer software company, which designed and developed benefit administration software for actuarial firms, major insurance companies, and CPA firms across the country.

Steve’s insight and vast knowledge has called him to various speaking engagements across the country. Steve has spoken at the ASPA 401(k) Summit and participated in discussions with members of the Texas Congressional delegation in Washington, D.C. regarding tax law changes. In addition, he has been a speaker, designated instructor, and contributing author to the American Society of Pension Actuaries.
